The soaring, inspiring story of one boy’s dreams and the power of hope. The theatrical sensation Billy Elliot the Musical hits Sydney this November.

The theatrical sensation, Billy Elliot the Musical is coming to Sydney this November!

From the multi-award winning creators of the smash-hit film Billy Elliot, this sensational stage
adaptation is a funny, feel-good celebration of a young boy's dreams to be a dancer in a man's
world of hard hats, football boots and boxing gloves.
Set against the historic British miners' strike of the 1980s, this story follows the journey of a young
boy raised in a small mining town who, after stumbling across a ballet class while on his way to
a boxing lesson, realises that his future lays not in the boxing ring, but on stage as a dancer.

Spending his boxing lesson money on ballet classes, he is secretly taught by the dry-witted, chainsmoking
Mrs Wilkinson, who sees Billy’s raw talent and potential. But when his father discovers
his son's ambition, Billy must fight for his dreams and his destiny.

This heart-warming story about a boy's triumph over adversity has broken box office records in
London since its world premiere in 2005.

With music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall and directed by Stephen Daldry, the show
is a roller-coaster ride of raw and powerful ballads, uplifting show tunes and a cheeky song or two.
This truly inspiring piece of theatre has won a host of awards, in London’s West End including
Best Musical at the Olivier Awards and the Evening Standard Awards, and has critics raving.

Don’t miss this sensational show, premiering in Australia at Sydney’s Capitol theatre this
November.
